Training for Retrievers, Spaniels and HPR breeds

Gundog training classes winter 2026

Due to demand Puppy and Beginner classes will restart Saturday 10th January 2026, these classes will be held every other week into the spring.

To enrol on the Saturday class I will require a 1-2-1 to make an assessment of both you and your dog, and also to get you started with gundog training.

Novice and advanced classes have now closed for 2025, classes resume March 2026 depending on the weather.

One on one gundog training
Due to demad, I am now offering a series of 1-2-1 lessons during the week. We can concentrate on your specific gundog training requirements, this will greatly improve your dog handling skills. Lessons last just over the hour and are very intensive.

Classes are breed specific
Spaniel: Puppy, Beginner and Novice levels.
Hunt Point Retreive breeds: Puppy, Beginner, Novice and Novice/Advanced levels.
Retreiver breeds: Puppy, Beginner, Novice and Novice/ Advanced Levels.

One to one Assessment
A 1-2-1 assessment will be required before attending any of my classes, this will be arranged on private ground near Tandridge. Sessions last just over the hour and include steadiness, find me, recall, heel work, stop whistles, steadiness, hunting and retrieves.

Working Test work shop
Due to demand we are now offering a 4 week course for those wanting to compete in working tests, either with a Retriever or Hunt Point Retriever.

These classes will focus on the handler and their abilities to quickly think ahead of the dog to gain those extra marks to obtain a better score in competition.

Next course starts Mid April 2026. Dogs participating should be of a resonable standard and have some experience in competition.
